2025: Two creative directions

for an ever bolder and more refined  watchmaking vision

Since its launch in 2007, freelancer embodies a contemporary interpretation of watchmaking while celebrating RAYMOND WEIL’s deep family roots. As the first collection personally directed by Elie Bernheim, who leads this nearly fifty-year-old independent family company in the third generation, it expresses his commitment to modernizing the brand while remaining firmly tied to its heritage. Inspired by the bold and visionary spirit of Mr. Raymond Weil, the brand’s founder, freelancer has given birth to creations with assertive designs, both elegant and daring. Each model reflects a constant quest for innovation while respecting the brand’s timeless identity.

One of the collection’s distinctive early signatures was the presence of a singular screw, cleverly integrated to support the dial opening, whether at 11 o’clock or positioned near the seconds hand or date display. This technical feature, as subtle as it was ingenious, long remained one of freelancer’s hallmarks, underlining the brand’s meticulous attention to the finest details.

The 42mm case, considered avant-garde in 2007, immediately made its mark with an aesthetic combining robustness and versatility. Freelancer soon established itself as a pillar of modernity for RAYMOND WEIL, becoming one of the first collections to embody the brand’s new visual identity. The introduction of a redesigned logo and the RW monogram on the crown symbolized an era of renewal, where tradition and innovation came together seamlessly.

freelancer goes beyond a collection: it’s a laboratory where mechanical complications take shape and innovative materials find their full expression. As a true reflection of the brand’s visionary spirit, freelancer continues to explore new creative horizons while remaining firmly anchored in its heritage.

RW1212: An Original Silhouette

RAYMOND WEIL Redefines Its Skeleton Caliber in a 500-Piece Limited Edition

The RW1212 proprietary caliber, developed in-house by the Geneva-based brand, was introduced in 2007 and it remains a key milestone in RAYMOND WEIL’s evolution. Born from the vision of Elie Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s grandson, and developed through close collaboration with Sellita’s experts, this movement exemplifies technical excellence with a resolutely modern design.  RAYMOND WEIL’s R&D department meticulously reimagined each component to highlight the balance wheel at 6 o’clock, elevating the beauty of the horological mechanics through an openworked traversing bridge. The result is a movement of striking depth, where architectural sophistication meets mechanical ingenuity.

Reference 2795-BKC-20000 is a meeting of innovation and elegance. The stainless steel case features a black PVD coating and pairs with a black galvanic openworked dial. Complemented by a black leather strap and limited to 5 00 pieces, this edition leans decisively toward a contemporary and sporty aesthetic.
