Q&A: 5 QUESTIONS TO OUR CEO, ELIE BERNHEIM, ABOUT THE NEW FREELANCER DIVER.
Let’s talk about the inspiration behind the new freelancer diver Geneva Limited Edition, with Elie Bernheim, CEO of RAYMOND WEIL.
Tell us about this new watch and what makes it so special
The freelancer diver 2760 is our newest timepiece here at RAYMOND WEIL. The inspiration comes from our deep-rooted connection with Geneva as a brand but also as a family. But it’s the detail of the watch that makes it really special. Some of the most beautiful design touches are the blue gradient dial and water droplet date window.
What does it mean to you to tell the story of Geneva through this new watch?
Geneva has a rich history of watchmaking dating back to the 16th century, so capturing the relationship that RAYMOND WEIL has with the city in this limited-edition timepiece is truly special. I have so many fond memories of Geneva and Leman Lake especially.
What’s your favourite thing about the Geneva Freelancer?
For me, the engraving on the back of the case of the Jet d’eau is very special. A hugely recognizable landmark of Geneva, my hometown. I was born and raised in this city that I still call home.
Who will love this watch?
Someone looking to purchase a unique timepiece that is not only truly beautiful but also functional. The new freelancer diver 2760 is water resistant to 310m, the maximal depth of Leman Lake, and with only 310 pieces available worldwide, so if someone is looking for a timepiece that will become a firm favorite in their collection. This is the watch for them.
What can people expect from RAYMOND WEIL in the future? Is anything else exciting coming up?
Yes, we have a couple more exciting releases before Christmas 2022, and as we move into next year we will be growing our product offering even further. RAYMOND WEIL is one of the last family-owned watchmaking companies, the whole team are involved in creating new timepieces, from the initial design concept to the last quality check in Geneva.
